Accounting Manager
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt (salaried) position.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial accounting and reporting functions within the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
a. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
b. Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
c. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls related to financial reporting.
2. General Ledger Management:
a. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger system, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
b. Review and approve journal entries, ensuring proper coding and documentation of transactions.
c. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
3. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Management:
a. Oversee AP and AR teams in processing invoices, payments, and collections in a timely and accurate manner.
b. Monitor cash flow and working capital management, optimizing payment terms and collections strategies.
c. Cultivate positive relationships with vendors and customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
4. Financial Compliance and Audit Support:
a. Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
b. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, reporting requirements, and government filings.
c. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with best practices and industry standards.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
a. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
b. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment to achieve departmental objectives.
c. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure workload balance and goal attainment.
6. Perform additional tasks as required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) required.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including consolidation of multiple legal entities.
- Experience with accounting for mergers & acquisitions.
- Experience managing the annual external audit.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel knowledge.
- Proficient with accounting software such as NetSuite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This is a management role that is responsible for managing a team, department(s), or region(s), and is responsible for setting performance goals, conducting evaluations, providing feedback to team members, allocating tasks and responsibilities as required, and managing resources.
Work Environment:
- Office Environment: This position is primarily based in an open office environment with typical office conditions; however, may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
- Hybrid position: This position is a flexible work model that combines remote and on-site work. When working remotely, the employee is required to have a workspace free of distraction during work hours to perform job duties.
Physical Demands:
- Requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time, performing tasks on a computer, the ability to move within the office to attend meetings, access equipment, or interact with colleagues.
