Quality Carpentry & Roofing, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and skilled Sales Representative/Estimator to join our dedicated team. This individual will play a crucial role in driving our company's growth by leveraging their expertise in Xactimate software for accurate estimates, as well as their deep understanding of insurance claims, planning, and budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical proficiency, leadership qualities, and exceptional time management and organizational skills to effectively manage projects and collaborate with various departments and upper management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively generate new business opportunities through self-initiated lead sourcing and efficiently manage leads received from the office.
- Prepare detailed estimates by collecting and analyzing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to identify labor, material, and time requirements.
- Ensure accuracy in computations of costs by thorough analysis of labor, material, and time necessities.
- Address and resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing pertinent information.
- Present and explain estimates with numerical and descriptive data effectively.
- Generate and contribute to special reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information and trends.
- Maintain and update the cost database by entering data accurately and performing regular backups.
- Keep abreast of industry developments by participating in educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and engaging in professional networking.
- Actively contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
- Commit to continuous personal and professional development to align with the company’s core values and support the achievement of the candidate's personal, professional, and financial aspirations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with customers, meeting them, and attending to their needs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters at job sites to facilitate smooth operations.
- Manage and deliver essential paperwork to customers and collect payments.
- Document projects through photographs, both prospective and completed, to maintain a comprehensive record.
- Promote the company's services/products effectively to maximize sales opportunities.
- Support the company in promotional activities, including trade shows, product presentations, and sales calls, to enhance the visibility and appeal of our services/products.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to estimate, plan, and report research results effectively.
- Proficiency in Xactimate, MS Office, and AccuLynx (preferred).
- Familiarity with Mac OS (preferred).
- Excellent strategic planning, attention to detail, and the ability to inform and communicate effectively.
- A proactive approach to requirement analysis and the capacity to inform others efficiently.
- Some college education or equivalent experience required.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate proficiency in customer relationship management, negotiation, and sales strategy execution. A deep understanding of the construction industry and a proven track record in sales within this sector will be highly regarded. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
