Chalfant Manufacturing Company (www.chalfant-obo.com) has been in business for over 75 years making and designing quality cable trays for electrical wiring. We are a subsidiary of OBO-Bettermann (www.obo.global) that has over 4000 employees and operates in over 60 countries. We are growing and looking for a Production Supervisor for the second shift to join our team. The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing the daily operations of our manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong leader and excellent communication skills to drive efficiency and productivity.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise production team members to ensure they are performing at their best.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and production goals.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Production Management:
- Oversee the production schedule to ensure timely completion of orders while maintaining high quality standards.
- Monitor production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as fabrication, rebuild, and customer service, to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues that may arise.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify defects, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any quality-related issues and continuously improve processes.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols to create a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct safety training sessions and promote awareness of safety practices.
- Investigate accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production output, downtime, and inventory levels.
- Communicate production updates, issues, and recommendations to management in a clear and timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control procedures, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business administration, or related field preferred but not required.
