MCI is a 44-year-old industry leader in the design, manufacture, and assembly of electrical controls, electrical enclosures, irrigation pumps and controls, municipal and commercial pump stations, water purification systems and design-to-order metal fabrications. We serve a variety of industries with standard and custom products including water pumping, oil production-drill and refining controls, waste water treatment, conveying, baggage conveying, handling, and process control to name a few.
We're seeking a skilled Powder Coater with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. Our Powder Coaters are responsible for interpreting prints to ensure precise paint color, thickness, and application on the first attempt. Duties also include equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and maintaining a clean work area.
SCOPE: The Powder Coater reports directly to the Coatings Manager while taking guidance from other management personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a steady workflow with minimal interruptions while upholding quality standards.
- Conduct visual inspections on all products entering the paint system to verify proper preparation.
- Interpret prints/schematics to ensure accurate color and application.
- Apply consistent mil thicknesses to various products.
- Monitor bake oven operation.
- Maintain spray guns and related equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and best practices.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by Management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Powder Coating experience.
- Proficient in standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to powder coating.
- Wet Painting experience is advantageous.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic math skills and the ability to read blueprints/schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Active listening and deductive reasoning skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds

ENVIRONMENT
The Powder Coat team operates in a manufacturing environment without climate control. Candidates must be willing to work overtime. The role may involve exposure to high noise levels, paint fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform various physical movements.
