This position reports to the Engineering Manager and performs the function of managing active projects in a heavy industry, job-shop environment; projects range in size and scope from month long projects to small scope, quick-turn repairs.
Responsibilities

Actively manages all aspects of multiple assigned projects from start to finish including:
1.cost estimating
2.writing detailed work instructions
3.project timeline
4.project cost analysis.

Interface directly with customers, shop personnel, sales and marketing personnel, purchasing agent and others.

Inspection and evaluation of heavy industrial equipment to determine required repairs and upgrades.

Understanding of stress analysis calculations, engineering drawings, machine shop design, and manufacturing procedures.

Ability to handle many projects with tight deadlines.

Work on site in Portland, Oregon. This position does not require travel.

Required Education and Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) from an accredited 4-year college.

Minimum 2 years working experience in a related engineering field.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle details on multiple concurrent projects.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Demonstrates high urgency and strong motivation.

Work on site in Portland, Oregon daily. Remote work is not an option for this role.
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of machining practices and precision measuring.

Knowledge of materials
-
Knowledge of paper and pulp equipment desirable.

Hands-on machining/fabrication experience a big plus.

Experience in MS office including teams and excel.

Experience in ERP systems such as E2 Shoptech or JobBOSS2
Work Environment
