Description:
Seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual for a part-time music teacher and liturgist grades K-8 for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have prior music training and be able to play at least one musical instrument (piano). Candidate will create weekly lessons for music classes and help plan bi-weekly Masses and prayer services. In addition, the candidate must be prepared to organize and lead two performing arts events during the school year (Christmas concert and spring concert) and co-direct school choir. The music teacher will also at times be willing to collaborate with the homeroom teachers to discuss cross-curricular planning for students. A flexible demeanor and willingness to adapt to school schedule changes, special events, and celebration is essential. The ideal candidate is a team player who works collaboratively with the administration to integrate the state standards into the curriculum. The individual should be comfortable with technology. They will work collaboratively with the faculty and the administration and have strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to develop and foster positive relationships with students, faculty, and parents and strong community building skills are essential. The ideal candidate must be able to supervise students effectively, both in and out of the classroom, support and follow procedures, as well as, develop effective classroom procedures and management. Technology skills and ability to work with SmartBoard, ipads/tablets, and websites to assist in creating and integrating curriculum into everyday lessons is preferred.
Requirements:
The Candidate will have a high school degree minimum
A candidate with a B.A. and/or teaching experience is preferred
The school will assist the candidate in pursuing a California Teaching credential if desired
