Primary Functions
Operating in accordance with established Credit Union procedures, the Teller Operations Supervisor will generally be responsible for the supervision of front-line Credit Union team members.
Duties and responsibilities
Supervises the activities of the front-line operations area by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive member relations problems.
Explains policies and procedures to members and team members as a communication tool.
Ensures that Member Service Representatives are trained and cross-trained in all phases of their jobs to ensure the delivery of quality service to members and to ensure accuracy in transactions.
Develops, applies, and evaluates policies and procedures for the department.
Maintains comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the Member Services area. Knowledge of all Credit Union policies and processes within the Member Service area.
Ensures that safety and security policies are being followed as specified.
Serves as a vault teller for the Credit Union, which includes ordering the cash and currency from the Federal Reserve, verifying cash received, filling teller cash orders, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash daily.
Approves member exceptions when deemed necessary.
Oversees proper availability of daily cash, and money orders.
Investigates teller losses and institutes corrective flows of work and/or corrective disciplinary actions where required.
Studies the workflow on an on-going basis to determine staffing requirements. Oversees work schedules for full-time and part-time employees in the Member Service area to ensure proper service to members.
Greets and welcomes members to the Credit Union and answers phones in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
Maintains cash drawer as needed to ensure sufficient staffing of the Member Service area.
Opens new member accounts efficiently and accurately verifying that all procedures and policies are followed for proper identification and account documentation.
Completing account verification requests.
Maintains confidentiality of all member and Credit Union information both in the office and outside the Credit Union.
May assist with the processing of ACH and/or Share Draft exceptions, and the monitoring and balancing of assigned General Ledger accounts.
Assists other Credit Union personnel as directed, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
May assist in opening and closing Credit Union as directed.
Prior Work Experience
Cash handling and customer service. Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
