The Breakout Operator’s primary responsibility is the assembly and disassembly of downhole drilling tools. This includes maintaining accurate service records and recording relevant data compliant with Total Directional standard operating procedures. Experienced Breakout Operators should have a working understanding of breakout unit equipment and the ability to help troubleshoot this equipment to prevent downtime. The Breakout Operator should also be familiar with the components and services of downhole drilling motors (mud motors). Breakout Operators must be able to follow technical service manuals and written or verbal work instructions. This person will need to comply with all safety and company policies, be able to communicate effectively with other technicians, and efficiently work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge Needed:
- Experience using breakout unit for assembly and disassembly of downhole drilling tools
- Working understanding of downhole drilling motors, components, and service process
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and operating procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Knowledge of safety principles and ability to identify unsafe work environments
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Must have transportation
Pay for this position depends on experience.
