We are seeking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a primary interest in surgery and anesthesia. We are seeking an RVT for each department.
Any VTS in these specialties are highly sought after. If you are an RVT looking to advance to gain your VTS, we are here to help!

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician for our Surgery and Anesthesia Department to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of our veterinary care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients undergoing anesthesia procedures.
Anesthesia Department Skill Sets include but not are limited to the following:
- Induction of anesthesia
- Intubation
- Venipuncture
- Catheter placement (intravenous, arterial, intraosseous)
- Set up an anesthesia machine
- Setting up anesthesia monitoring equipment
- Monitoring anesthetic patient parameters and recognizing anesthetic complications
- Communicating in medical terminology
- Keeping an anesthetic record
- Patient recovery from anesthesia or sedation
- Monitoring patient sedations
- CRI calculations
- Drug calculations and conversions
Surgery Department Skill Sets include but are not limited to the following:
- Aseptic patient preparation
- Clipping of surgical patients for surgery with margins
- Positioning of patients
- Draping-in Patients
- Opening surgical packs
- Basic knowledge of common surgical instruments
- Scrubbing in to assist in surgery
- Comfortable with surgical procedures, hemorrhage, and tissues
- Basic understanding of surgical procedures
- Patient restraint
- Obtaining orthopedic radiographs
- Exceptional practice of radiation safety
- Knowledge of handling and operating imaging equipment (CT, Fluoroscopy, Arthroscopy, etc.)
- Pulling surgical packs ahead of surgical procedures
- Surgical inventory management
- Some knowledge of surgical pack/central sterile processing
- Injections
- Catheter placement
- Venipuncture
- Client communication
Qualifications:
- Certified as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a veterinary technician, with specific experience in anesthesia monitoring and management.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team, independently and under instruction.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care and advocating for the well-being of animals.
- Ability to be pro-active
- Must be reliable
- Have a good understanding of asepsis, comfortable with anesthesia or willing to become comfortable with anesthesia
- Be available for on-call duties to assist with emergency surgical procedures
- Familiarity with Smartflow, Ezy-Vet is preferred, but not required.
