Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Studies/ Science Teacher to join our team. As a 6th grade Social Studies/Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students the skills and knowledge needed to understand the world around them. You will create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and promotes social and emotional growth. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for teaching and a commitment to supporting the development of children with special needs.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Social Studies/Science to students with varying abilities, including those with autism and other special needs.
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that meet the needs of all students.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and assessments that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Administer standardized tests and evaluate student progress to inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure consistency in teaching methods and curriculum delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate social and emotional learning, as well as childhood development principles.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with students of varying abilities and learning styles.
- Proven experience in behavior management and classroom management.
- Knowledge of standardized testing and assessment methods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with classroom technology and the ability to incorporate technology into lessons.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
- Experience with childhood development and social and emotional learning principles.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $62,500.00 - $75,035.00 per year
