JoJo Wong Design & Construction Studio in TX and CA - We are growing and looking for a FUN, CREATIVITY, EXPERIENCED individual. We currently have an opening (contract/project based) for an Interior Designer with Architectural background position with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an interior design or architectural office who possesses strong design and graphic abilities as well as project management skills to support the Project Lead in the creation and development of overall design concepts, presentations, design development and production.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently and with project teams on projects from the schematic phase through construction administration.
- Design of projects on a variety of scales
- Coordinate and oversee project teams including multiple consultants
- Preparation of construction documents, specifications, and oversight of construction administration
- Create 2D and 3D representations of design sketches or developed projects.
- Prepare and modify architectural documents (plans, elevations, sections, details, etc.) as directed by project designer utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and CAD software.
- Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated documentation on projects with aggressive schedules
- Develop solutions to technical and design problems
- Translation of design concepts into construction documents for both interior and exterior systems
- Collaboration on project design, construction documents and construction administration
- Consultant coordination
- Quality control and document review
- Intermittent travel between Texas and California for projects
- Ad-hoc tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Prepare and maintain budgets, inventory tracking, and constructions schedules in excel or other programs
- Inputting items into and creating proposals and purchase orders.
- Assist with ordering samples, requesting quotes, and maintaining library.
- Liaison with contractors, clients, vendors, and sub-workers.
- Design architectural details such as built-ins, moldings, and tile design
- Draw furniture layouts in CAD, Revit, and Sketch up
- Observe progress and quality of subcontractor or contractor work as required.
- Assist with installations
- Positive attitude and work ethic, ability to multi task and problem solve, resourceful, and highly efficient
- Strong organizational skills and follow through
- Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team player, able to work well with others but also have the ability to work independently without supervision.
- Construction documentation and design detail development experience.
- CREATIVITY, INTEGRITY, and INITIATIVE.
- Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
- A strong desire to excel and advance in a fast paced, challenging and client focused environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or in Interior Design
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in design & construction documents of single family residential
