Position Title: Joint Fires Network (JFN) Plans System Designer
Position Description: Ingenia Services, Inc. is seeking a motivated, high-character JFN Plans System Designer to join a team of professionals at the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) Integrated Joint Fires Center (IJFC). The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about the USINDOPACOM region and mission and is an expert in the planning and designing of novel integrated JFN solutions across the full spectrum of military operations.
The JFN Plans System Designer will identify, analyze, articulate, and incorporate Plans data requirements and artifacts in the planning and operational execution of:
- Integration requirements across the Services, Allies, and Partner Nations within the Indo-Pacific Joint Coalition Fires enterprise to achieve maximum effects against selected targets.
- Enhance government customer capabilities while addressing focused Plans implementation and system integration challenges.
- Work across multiple staff offices to advise, synergize, and develop innovative methods to standardize data ingestion and tagging, and support on-going mangement of associated INDOPACOM systems and applications.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work across all USINDOPACOM directorates and special staff to understand the data resident within the Command, the types of data most frequently used, and for what purpose
- Developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components.
- Engineer and lead the enterprise virtual infrastructure and system software components.
- Performing high-level root cause analysis in support of service interruption recovery, as well as creating and documenting preventive measures.
- Working as a strong team contributor and providing technical expertise.
- Staying abreast of emerging trends in information technology and helping shape the work for the Government.
- Working with the Government to understand their requirements and evaluate possible technical solutions.
- Engineer host environments to support complex operational databases, software configuration control and system interfaces for computer systems related to customer requirements.
- Maintains file servers, network access; documents, analyzes, and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
- Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
- Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.
- Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
- Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
- Develops and directs tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
- Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
- Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities.
- Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Participates in special projects as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience with MIL-STD data formats; USMTF/OTH, CMF, TACTICAL DATA LINKS/JREAP and VMF.
- Experience with C2/C4ISR systems/databases; MIDB/TMS.
- 8+ years' relevant experience with an Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education , technical training, or work/military experience; Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Ability to focus on engineering from a performance optimization perspective.
- Expertise in a systems or application programming language (e.g., Java, C).
- Expertise in web-based frameworks (e.g., Java Enterprise Edition (JEE), .NET, JavaScript, jQuery).
- Knowledge of data structures and relational database systems relevant to candidates work area (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostGres).
- Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP).
- Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible. NOTE: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
Certification Requirements: DODD 8570.01-M IAT II or higher AND any of the following:
- MCSE related to candidate's work area OR
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) OR
- Microsoft Certified Expert related to candidate's work area OR
- Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional OR
- Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administration Expert
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with USINDOPACOM HQ, the AOR, and associated intelligence/operational missions
- Experience with intelligence community systems and tools
- Previous experience working in a 4-star Headquarters
- Experience with AWS, Java, C++, APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON, and/or JavaScript
- Experience briefing senior leadership
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to provide information, articles, written reports, and presentations to include delivering executive summaries to flag and general officers (FO/GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) level officials
