PRN - MRI Technologist
Description
The MRI Technologist provides quality care to patients undergoing MRI procedures. The technologist must demonstrate full knowledge of MRI procedures and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate the patient experience by greeting patients, explaining pre and post procedure instructions, and verifying patient’s identity. Utilize AIDET Principles in all patient and provider encounters.
- Perform MRI exams using proper protocols and positioning techniques, transporting patients safely, verifying accuracy of orders and documenting patient information.
- Document the patient’s exam through data entry, report retrieval, scanning and recording the exam details in the electronic medical record system.
- Conduct environmental and safety procedures including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment. Evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patient maneuvers.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge and licensure through educational workshops, professional publications and societies.
- Train in and perform biopsies
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree or Certified Radiologic Technologist; Board Certified in MRI plus at least 1 year advanced education in MRI
Experience:1 to 3 years’ experience radiologic technologist with at least 1 year training in MRI. Experience with 1.5T and 3T Siemens magnet
Knowledge: Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence and service recovery. Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Skills: Intermediate computer skills including Email and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System and PACS Systems. Use of MRI equipment, contrast injectors and general office equipment.
Licensure/Certification: Board Certified RT (MR) in good standing with ARRT
Physical requirements: Occasional lifting, pushing or pulling. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
Conditions of employment: CPR Certification, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines, radiation dosimeter badge and all required Personal Protective Equipment
