Summary/Objective
The inspector position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company’s products. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Functions

- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area to reflect a positive image of themselves and the company.
- All personal protective equipment (PPE) must be inspected by the employee and worn upon direction of supervisors, managers, and the safety manager. Participate in mandatory safety or PPE training and notify their supervisor when new PPE is necessary.
- Maintain a clean, neat and groomed personal appearance to reflect a positive image of themselves and the company.
- Thoroughly gauging and visually inspecting rods, couplings, or tubing for defects.
- Accurately tagging work to maintain operation flow.
- Inspecting parts and tools routinely for proper calibration.
- Request tools, parts and supplies in a timely fashion, as necessary, to maintain operational flow and inventory counts.
- Accurately track production and calibration on correct forms.
- Perform cleaning operations using detergent baths, degreasing, grit blasting, wire brushing, etc.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical, leaking or material issues in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate and expedite repair/assembly operations with Inspection Manager.
- Evaluate self-work to ensure compliance with work instructions and standards.
- Log completed work and prepare necessary documentation.
- Place finished goods on the designated pallet.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, heat, cold, rain, wind and a variety of other extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to portion, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Work Schedule
This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position, and the days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends and/or holidays may be scheduled. Employee may be scheduled to work overtime and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Similar oil production experience is preferred.
