PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. We seek a Senior IT Hydrocarbon Value Chain Business Analyst to support the IT Enterprise Digital Solutions Manager in driving strategic improvements within our business. As the Senior IT Hydrocarbon Value Chain Business Analyst, you will act as the business relationship manager between the IT department and the Business Management and Process Engineering organizations.
Your primary objective as a Business Analyst (BA) will be to prioritize and drive continuous improvement opportunities. This includes understanding each IT application's business processes, requirements, and utilization. You will assist in requirement gathering, vendor selection, and planning and execution of small projects. Additionally, you will establish IT best practices at the site. The successful candidate must seek to understand the Refinery business and oil and gas practices and feel comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Creativity and customer-centric attitudes are fundamental to this role.
To be successful, you should have:
- Understanding of typical applications used at a refinery.
- Experience with one or multiple hydrocarbon value chain applications preferred, including AVEVA PI, PIMS, Orion, and Process Simulation
- Strong technical abilities in application design, configuration, implementation, and support.
- Ability to develop technology roadmaps based on business capability enablement and technical lifecycle.
- Experience creating an applications inventory and portfolio.
Your responsibilities as the Senior IT Hydrocarbon Value Chain Business Analyst will include:
- Act as the business relationship manager for the Business Management team (commercial, supply chain, economics, scheduling, planning, and process engineering).
- Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Architect to develop a strategic roadmap for business capabilities and applications.
- Work with PMO and OCM teams to deliver critical projects and support change management.
- Maintain and support the portfolio of applications, including contract and license management.
- Lead vendor relations and manage application projects, deployments, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Ensure IT infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity requirements are met in collaboration with the IT Technical team.
