Key Objectives:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Investment Accountant to join our team. As an Investment Accountant, you will be responsible for investment accounting and reporting. You will work closely with the finance team and will play a crucial role in managing investment portfolios, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and analysis to support decision-making. Summary of Responsibilities:

Investment Accounting
-
Preparation of the investment reconciliation between Clearwater and the general ledger; including journal entries, account reconciliations and account certifications

Complete month end closing procedures including analytical reviews of investment balances, unsettled trades, suspense accounts to support the accuracy of our financial statements

Ensure timely clearing of suspense activity, proper recognition of investment related transactions in the general ledger through partnership with Investment Accounting third-party service providers, client representatives and finance team

Financial Reporting

Assist in the preparation of Quarterly and Annual financial statements and disclosures related to investments

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of investment results, including fair value measurements and impairment analysis.

Prepare quarterly reports for Board of Director meetings for applicable clients

Compliance and Audit

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including NAIC guidelines, state insurance department requirements and internal policies.

Coordinate with external auditors during financial and regulatory audits

Implement and maintain strong internal controls over investment accounting processes.

Other Responsibilities

Participate in the development and enhancement of investment accounting systems and processes as necessary

Provide support for special projects and initiatives as assigned by management

Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards and regulatory changes affecting investment accounting.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment accounting, preferably within the insurance industry.
