Responsible for training, productivity, quality and safety in the Clean Room & General Manufacturing areas. Ensures that all manufacturing procedures and work instructions are adhered to and reviews production paperwork at the end of each shift.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 11pm to 7am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assures all aspects of the molding and production area and personnel are acceptable to maintain the designated work load
- Has been trained and understands the process flow general plastic materials and for implantable and absorbable materials
- Trains and monitors new employees regarding proper attire for the production areas. Responsible for proper training of gowning and un-gowning when entering or leaving the cleanroom.
- Identify training needs and ensure all shift employees have received the proper training and thoroughly understand all aspects of the process in which they are involved
- Responsible for all disciplinary actions for clean room personnel and reports to Shift Supervisor
- Prior to operators running a job, review the Work Instructions for recent additions or modifications. Verify that operators have reviewed Work Instructions prior to running any job. This is to be done every time an operator mans a job. Answer any questions that may arise. Understand all quality aspects for each job running.
- Communicates with Quality Control, Shift Supervisor and Production Planner of any issues regarding jobs running, requirements, quality, altered production schedules and other issues, etc.
- Maintain visual specifications by observing production operations and inspecting product before final packaging
- Responsible for interacting with Quality Control to ensure product is acceptable
- Oversee all packaging and labels for general manufacturing and Clean Room production and maintains label inventory as jobs are running
- Conduct routine testing and documentation of cleanroom conditions as required
- Ensure that Press Operators have all necessary equipment and tools for production jobs, maintains adequate inventory levels of those materials
- Ensure all Operators have scheduled breaks
- Conducts performance reviews of Product Specialist and Operator using input from Senior Process Engineer
- Administer Performance deficiencies according to company policies
- Communicated new policies and procedures to shift personnel
- Oversee final paperwork for production jobs that have been completed
- Reviews shift paperwork (Job Costing Sheets) and enters scrap into IQMS
- Coordinates all Re-work and Secondary Operations
- Knowledgeable in First Aid procedures and handling emergency situations
- Other tasks as directed by Production / Process engineer or Molding/ Project Manager
- Contact appropriate personnel during emergency situations
- Commit to continuous improvement in all job functions
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed
- Ensure that all equipment safeties are not altered or defeated
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- High School Degree preferred
- 3 years manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of molds and injection molding
- Ability to read, follow instructions, skills in judgment, ability to concentrate and simple math
- Must have good communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Must be able to accurately fill out paperwork as required
- Understands quality inspection requirements of each part and makes accurate judgment of acceptable parts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to move 1100 lb. gaylords with a pallet jack
- Environment: Noise level is uncontrolled (Ear plugs are provided)
- Perform job duties in accordance to ISO 13485/9001 including ISO audits
