Summary of Role and Function:
The Quality Inspector will uphold the quality/safety policies our company has created and oversee the product development process to ensure that all products meet quality standards. Inspectors will be responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company standards are followed. Additionally, the Quality Inspector may fill additional roles as needed and directed including, but not limited to, roles such as supporting other QHSE assignments.

Job duties are the major or most important tasks to be performed by this position. The duties must be clear and specific of the work tasks to be performed and must include the periodic schedule that is required for each task such as continuous, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or on an annual basis.
- Report for work on time, every time.
- Follow work instructions and expectations given to you by your Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Develop and conduct a variety of inspections on inbound materials from vendors and outbound products for shipping.
- Ensure that all the quality check procedures that are put in place by the company are followed during every production phase.
- Create comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken.
- Educate production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product quality.
- Create process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with departmental managers.
- Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
- Produce further analysis and reports as may be required by the Upper Management Team from time to time.
- Process non-conforming (NCR) material in the ERP system through the various process steps, such as Inspections and Dispositions of non-conforming material.
- Process Pre-Shipment Inspections using GoCanvan application and reporting findings as necessary.

- Employee must be responsible for their own Safety.
- Employee must read and fully understand the latest version of the Electronic Power Design, Inc. Employee Manual available on the PayChex website portal and in the Human Resources office.
- Accept responsibility and accountability of all information and results reported within official test procedures, quality documents, and equipment records by means of employee signature and/or initials.
- Reading drawings, specifications and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies.
- Approving or rejecting raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
- Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.) (AKA First Article Inspections)
- Use automated systems to perform complex inspection procedures.
- Maintain records of inspections, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
- Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
- Inspect finished products as they come off the Assembly/Fabrication lines for quality to ensure they meet company specifications and safety standards.
- Responsible for routing out damaged items and materials and removing or discarding them as appropriate.
- Prepare and submit reports to the QHSE Manager/Quality Control Supervisor
- Coordinate process efforts on automated NCR notifications generated out of ERP via email.
- Complete department tasks and responsibilities at a fast and organized pace with occasional unscheduled interruptions or changes in priority.
- Embody a Team oriented work environment and relationship with other department members in order to collectively reach daily and overall company goals.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area at all times, and report all potentially hazardous equipment, test setups, conditions, or activities.
- Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policy.
- Meet contractual shipment deadlines which often require flexibility with regards to work schedule, extended days and overtime, and evening/weekend hours.
There may be a difference between the skills required to get the job and the skills required to perform the job. For example, even if our company requires candidates to have an engineering degree as a Prerequisite before our company hires them, the candidate may still need to be trained on the characteristics of the product and the tools used to produce the product. Therefore, the Job Description should also always identify the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) that each person needs to be successful in their job.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Some college experience or associates degree/certificate preferred.
- Training Certifications
- Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)

- Knowledge of product types related to the company. This includes but is not limited to Electrical Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, Variable Speed Drives, PLC Control Systems, and Industrial Control Panels.
