Engineering Student Support Services Coordinator
(Full-time, Grant-funded position), Title V Engineering Project

The University of St. Thomas, a private university (www.stthom.edu) committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking an Engineering Student Support Services Coordinator to lead and deliver student support services to the UST Title V Engineering project participants. This position reports to the Project Director and works closely with the Program Manager.

Responsible for the day-to-day support services for engineering students

Works with student support offices such as Financial Aid, Tutoring Centers, Admissions, Registrar to provide supportive services to engineering students

Hire, train and supervise Peer Mentors and Tutors that work with grant participants

Be responsible for transition support for engineering students and provide coaching and intrusive counseling services to students enrolling in this program

Make visits to local community groups and area industry institutions to conduct community outreach regarding the programs

Provide front-line, wrap-around support services to engineering students

Be able to work non-traditional hours and provide student support predominantly in-person but also online if needed

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field required, Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred

At least three years of experience advising at the college-level

Experience advising Hispanic, underrepresented, transfer and first-generation students in STEM and engineering studies preferred

Advanced proficiency in using MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and
- Strong attention to detail and organization, and ability to complete multiple assignments

Previous Federal grant work preferred

Excellent rapport with University-wide communities and external

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

Adherence to full grant and OMB compliance is required

Industry experience or experience as a professional engineer preferred

Bilingual English/Spanish
This is a full-time, year-round, benefits eligible professional position.
The position is currently funded by the US Department of Education OPE Title V Program, Award #P031S200178.After the conclusion of the Title V program the position is planned to be institutionalized by the University.
