Job Summary: Engage youth, parents, community members, and leaders to create equitable opportunities for public school students to succeed. Build a community network that collaborates with government, schools, and local partners for student-centered planning and collective action to achieve educational equity.
Responsibilities:
- Identify existing educational resources.
- Develop and disseminate strategies to increase resource accessibility.
- Collect and create resources, tip sheets, and training materials to support parent efforts.
- Create student and parent rights self-help toolkits.
- Disseminate tools through social media.
- Plan and conduct parent focus groups and workshops.
- Conduct research to identify systemic barriers to educational access and success for low-income students.
- Work with community members to develop strategies to overcome these barriers or create new educational opportunities.
