Position Overview:
We are seeking a kind and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher for our 2024/2025 school year. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children and contribute to their growth and development during these crucial time between 3 months to 18 months . We are looking for someone who also enjoys working with staff and students of diverse backgrounds.
Compensation rate is based on relevant professional experience and educational background.
Job Type: Full-time 12 month position
Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for infants aged 3 months to 18 months.
- Implement Montessori principles and practices to encourage independence, exploration, and self-discovery among infants/young toddlers.
- Plan and execute developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records of their developmental milestones.
- Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers and classroom aides.
- Communicate with parents through messaging app Brightwheel.
- Prepare for and lead conferences and meetings with parents.
- Schedule and collaborate with other faculty for Parent Education.
- Collaborate with teaching colleagues and administration on event planning and curriculum implementation.
- Attend staff meetings, center activities, and staff development sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Montessori training and certification from an AMI or MACTE accredited institution for the infant/young toddler age group.
- Previous experience working with infants in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and the ability to apply them effectively in the classroom.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Schedule:
- 12 month position.
- Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
