Position Summary
The Community & Corporate Affairs Coordinator will provide support to the Community & Corporate Affairs division which includes Corporate Affairs, Membership and Community Engagement, providing support in the continued development of the corporate council program, membership program and community engagement activities. The coordinator will also take the lead on periodic special projects to further the overall departmental goals. This position is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in launching a career in the non-profit space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide a high level of service to corporate and community members; including responding to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner; follow up on action items from meetings with such members; serving as an additional liaison for members and assisting to ensure that member benefits are provided.
Coordinate virtual meetings among members and volunteers, partner with NORD staff on follow up regarding action items and take aways, assist in communication outreach with members and volunteers (newsletter development, virtual meeting agenda development and direct one on one engagement).
Assist with the planning and oversight of Corporate Council meetings, including confirming speakers, preparation of meeting agenda and materials, promotion to members, as well as post-meeting follow up communications and material production.
Assist with the creation and development of a Membership Council, with affinity groups dedicated to certain areas (capacity building, fundraising/development, public policy). Upon launch, partner with the membership team on actions, including confirming speakers, preparation of meeting agenda and materials, promotion to members, as well as post-meeting follow up communications and material production.
In tandem with the patient engagement team, develop greater and more regular communications with NORD volunteers, the Rare Action Network and the Policy Advocacy Task Force. Assist in preparation of meetings and agenda, materials, promotion to volunteers, post meeting follow up communications and material production.
Assist in responding to inquiries received in NORD portals from corporate entities, patient organizations and individuals.
Assist Community and Corporate Affairs team in developing and managing corporate, community and volunteer events associated with our two major events each year: Rare Disease and Orphan Products Breakthrough Summit and the NORD Living Rare, Living Stronger Patient and Family Forum.
Maintain data integrity in the CRM (Salesforce) by ensuring accurate entries of all contacts. Partner with IT team to identify key measures that NORD should track within Salesforce.
Coordinate a variety of special projects for the Community & Corporate Affairs division.
Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
At least 1 year of experience in a non-profit organization, public health or community health organization required.
Experience/knowledge with CRM databases (Salesforce or similar) is preferred.

Working Conditions
This position is fully remote with a preference for candidates located in the Danbury, CT, Washington, DC and Quincy, MA areas.
