Metallix Refining, a precious metals refining, has an opening for a Truck Driver and Logistics Specialist.
This position performs the duties of truck driver while on the road and facility staff employee when not driving. The Truck Driver/Logistics Specialist is responsible (OTR) over the road pickups and deliveries and receiving and preparing shipments, and assisting with inventory control when not driving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Driving Duties: Drive short and long distances safely operating a tractor-trailer or other company truck to make deliveries and pick-up of hazardous and non-hazardous material.
Load and unload freight.
Verify and ensure accuracy of documents, bills of laden and hazardous waste manifests.
Communicate with scrap suppliers regarding delivery/ pick-up times if scheduling changes.
Communicate with customers if there is a problem or delay with scheduled pickup.
Pushing, pulling of drums and equipment which could weigh more than 100 lbs. Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending and stretching.
Logistics Duties - Outbound: Prepare and weigh drums/pails for domestic and overseas shipments. Verify seal numbers, previous weight and lot number.
Prepare containers to be shipped to scrap suppliers at the request of the PMPD Buyers.
Entering Pick list and lot information into the MM & printing out all sheets with information needed, including labels.
Banding and preparing of all finished product and staging all shipments.
Logistics Duties - Inbound: Load and unload trucks; weigh all material from truck.
Accurately enter receiving information into the materials management system and create excel spreadsheets.
Consult with the Logistics Manager or Director of Operations on new suppliers and first-time shipments.
Prepare containers to be shipped to scrap suppliers at the request of the PMPD Buyers.
Communicate with PMPD buyers if there are any problems or discrepancies and include Logistics Manager on any written correspondence.
Logistics Duties - Warehouse: Use NAV Warehouse module to enter and remove stock
Label inventory
Place material/stock in and remove from warehouse locations
Perform Inventory counts as required
Logistics Duties - Department: Clean assigned areas each day and ensure drums are cut and crushed.
Assist in receiving of shipments when time permits.
Pushing, pulling of drums and equipment which could weigh in excess of 100 lbs. Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending and stretching.
General Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
RCRA: This position will require interaction with hazardous waste.
QUALIFICATIONS
Be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have clear driving history record.
Class A Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Several years of tractor-trailer driving experience, preferably with hazmat endorsement.
Must be able to maintain a DOT medical card and pass all background, drug and alcohol screens required by agency.
Must be able to pass TSA Threat Assessment for Hazardous Materials endorsement.
Knowledge of health and safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work flexible schedules and mandatory department overtime as needed.
