Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Nephrology team. The ideal candidate will provide quality patient care, demonstrate exemplary customer service, and be a dedicated team member.
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and patient check in and check out and answer patient calls.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient education.
- Process patient referrals, prior auths, and pre certifications
- Take vital signs and record patients' medical history in an electronic medical record system.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program and certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, patient care procedures, and basic life support.
- Knowledge of coding systems and electronic health record systems.
- Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical practices.
- Experience working in a clinic or hospital setting is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
