The Transportation Manager Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer / Integrator of Greer Enterprises. The Transportation Manager position plans, directs, and coordinates the transportation operations & services within Greer Enterprises, LLC. This position will ensure that the company honors its compliance obligations and provide technical expertise on operational efficiencies and make modifications where needed. This position is responsible for developing strategies for facility expansion and new facility development to support the overall company growth initiatives.
Primary Job duties:
- Reviews the performance, efficiencies and duties of their subordinates and provides coaching and feedback where needed. Ensures that all subordinates are performing within their defined roles.
- Ensures that the company adheres to all of its compliance obligations involving the transportation of our customers’ waste and ensures adherence to its ISO 14001 and other internal policies and procedures.
- Establish and track company equipment maintenance standards.
- Responsible for the management of transportation-related permits and registrations, including the procurement of licenses and registrations for non-CDL vehicles.
- Ensures the efficient organization and staging of all inbound waste coming into the warehouse, and timely delivery of waste within regulatory guidelines.
- Ensures that accurate waste logs for all wastes are maintained.
- Responsible for warehouse and facility housekeeping, inspections and spill reporting in accordance with the company ISO 14001 policies.
- Plans capital expenditure needs and maintenance of transportation equipment.
- Develops and maintains KPI/metrics to support the duties listed above.
- Maintains the Driver Qualification files for all current drivers.
- Performs CDL driver queries on the FMCSA database.
- Responsible for development & maintenance of KPI/metrics to track transportation accuracy, efficiency, and goals.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain management or equivalent work experience required.
- Possess exceptional leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be a detail-oriented person and must have the ability to multi-task and manage their time.
- 3 to 5 years in the transportation industry required.
- 3 to 5 years of hazardous waste experience preferred.
- Possess a current understanding of federal USDOT & USEPA regulations pertaining to waste transportation.
- Have a basic understanding of the responsibilities of each department within Greer Enterprises, LLC as well as the responsibilities of all co-workers.
- Ability to work with others as a team and to maintain a positive attitude.
- Have a working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
