Sasco River is a multidisciplinary practice offering a range of diagnostic and therapy services for children, adolescents, young adults, and families, specializing in Collaborative & Comprehensive Testing, Psychotherapy & Sensory Processing. They are a merger of Sensory Kids & The Southfield Center for Development.

The HR Generalist works at the local practice, Sasco River, to help manage recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and record maintenance for all employees. They prepare files and forms for new employees, update employment status and help new employees get access to the recourses they need to do their job. They will act as a liaison to the corporate HR team and participate in some corporate functions within their experience, HR Generalists also create sort and update records in the HRIS databases and HR files, disposes of old records properly and contacts employees to update their contact information and other key documents. This position is on-site, and the individual may be asked to visit multiple locations.
This is a non-clinical position.
Key responsibilities for the Human Resources Generalist include:
- Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary slips and warning letters.
- Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
- Creating employee engagement plans, getting necessary budget approval, and initiating activities
- Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves.
- Assist leaders in policy formulation, hiring and salary administration.
- Creating a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation and revenue projections/growth
- Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates and schedule job interviews.
- Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees.
- Providing on-site support for employees to seek clarification, feedback and/or report official complaints.
- Collaborating with outside vendors, upper management, and employees
- Evaluating employee performance and appraising their pay scale accordingly
- Taking appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances.
- Creates new employee and position records and guides new employees through the onboarding process.
- Performs administrative duties, such as maintaining employee database and sorting emails for the practice.
- Conduct exit interviews, as needed
- Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution of their queries.
- Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to have crucial conversations involving the proper stakeholders with tact and decorum.
- Ability to manage through ambiguity and ever-changing timelines and business assumptions.
- Organizes and manages the work and resources of his/her business unit to optimize productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Attend interdepartmental meetings as needed
- Participate on DEI committee and other initiatives, as appropriate.
Requirements:
Requirements for the Human Resource Generalist include:
- Successful candidate must have an associate degree in HR or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- This is an on site position for the hours dedicated to Sasco River Center.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an HR administrative role.
- Candidate must have strong communication skills.
- Candidate must be able to quickly resolve people’s problems.
- Candidate must be familiar with database systems and common HR applications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
- Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
