Operating Room Nurse
Surgical Center in the Bronx is looking to hire a full time Operating Room Nurse. Specialties include: Orthopedics, Podiatry, Pain, ENT, and ophthalmology. Willing to train the right employee.
Job Duties Include but not limited to:
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care in accordance with established nursing practices.
- Providing safe, patient care to patients in the operating room.
- Documentation of Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
- Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients.
- Preparing patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on.
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS)/ Basic Life Support/ PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 3 months of hire
- Requires an RN licensed or eligible in New York
- Previous Medical/Surgical Nursing and/or Surgical Services experience preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Potential exposure to infect diseases/toxic waste/irritants
- Potential exposure to chemicals/solvents
- Involves direct close patient contact
- Requires use of safety equip around hazardous conditions
- Maneuvering and positioning patients
- Pushing/pulling wheelchairs, stretchers & equip up to 50lbs
- Frequently required/prolonged sitting, standing or walking
- Stand, bend, lift & grab/clean necessary items/instruments
- Stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl/climb stairs/ladders/small spaces
- Walking, standing and lifting of materials
