Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Engineer with a strong background in blueprint analysis, electrical systems, and project management. This role is pivotal in transforming architectural concepts into reality within the automotive and/or datacenter industries. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex, high-value projects and will offer innovative solutions to improve equipment startup and commissioning processes. You will be integral to the implementation of the project's four-phase quality control plan, overseeing the field construction of mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure schedule adherence and compliance with contract specifications.
**Please note: This position requires prior experience as an electrician.**
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical support during the design and preconstruction phases to assist the owner and architect engineer.
- Oversee the equipment startup and turnaround processes.
- Assist in the implementation of the project’s quality control planning and inspection processes.
- Monitor the field construction activities of electrical and mechanical subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract documents and timelines.
- Provide technical support to resolve field construction issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain general instructions and guidelines for field construction methods using industry and company standards.
- Develop and maintain work-controlling documents that set mandatory minimum requirements for work, authority, documentation, and records in accordance with applicable codes and contract requirements.
- Review architectural and engineering specifications, bid inquiries, and other documentation to ensure technical and code requirements for materials, equipment, and field activities are met.
- Continuously research, evaluate, and recommend the implementation of new or improved construction processes, equipment, materials, techniques, and methods.
- Participate in constructability reviews of design documents to help determine the most cost-effective and schedule-efficient methods of construction.
- Provide technical input to various company functions such as estimating, controls, project management, and other areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction within the automotive and/or datacenter industries.
- Prior experience as an electrician.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction technology, equipment, materials, and methods related to the discipline.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including web-based project management systems.
- Willingness to accept project assignments that may require extended temporary living arrangements or frequent travel to non-local job sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
