Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Looking for RN's and LPN's for weekend shifts, 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm.
Summary:
The DBT Institute of Michigan is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed
Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in providing excellent health care to our residents. The RN/LPN's duty of caring for the residents coming into our residential facility include tasks like creating and maintaining accurate patient records, administering medication and monitoring for side effects, recording vital signs, and reporting symptoms and changes in patient conditions. Nursing services must be individualized to meet the needs of each resident and must include all of the following activities. This position is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Position Functions:
- Coordinate the implementation of physician’s orders with each resident.
- Develop, sign and review on an ongoing basis each resident’s treatment plan of care.
- Review the physician summary.
- Monitor the health status and medication management of all residents to ensure that all orders are properly delivered.
- Report changes in the health status of any resident to the physician.
- Complete a nursing progress note corresponding with each visit or encounter, or more often as the resident’s condition warrants.
- Plan for and implement discharges from the residential program.
- Conduct an orientation on medication use for each resident and their identified loved one before the resident is discharged from the residential facility.
- Provide ongoing training to front-line staff on health, medications, and safety.
- Educate the resident about hygiene and health concerns.
- Assess, along with the physician and individual clinician, the resident’s ability to manage safely, medication(s) for a maximum of three hours a day independently before discharge.
- Report to the physician, CCO and CEO any incidence or accident, medications issues or errors, or other change in programmatic information.

Language Skills
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, physicians, residents, residents’ loved ones and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education, Experience, Certificates, Licenses,
Valid Driver’s Licenses, recent physical exam and TB screen within 12 months, fully licensed by the State of Michigan. It is desired that the RN/LPN/CNA have at least two years’ recent experience in the direct care of adults. A passion for working with adults with mental illness is a must.
