Position Summary
The Lead Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing logistics operations at a project site, typically managing electrical and/or mechanical scopes but may oversee other scopes as well. This role ensures that logistics processes are optimized for project success and involves overseeing a few crews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement site-specific logistics strategies.

Oversee the onsite logistics team and provide leadership and guidance.

Ensure efficient material handling, storage, and distribution.

Communicate with site management and other stakeholders.

Prepare weekly and daily logistics plans- i.e. crew matrices, delivery schedule preparations.

Submit all required logistics documentation, i.e. daily deliveries, material transfer forms (MTFs), and weekly reports.

Prepare for and attend all required meetings, both onsite and via Microsoft Teams.

Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Operate skid-steer and rough-terrain forklift; obtain certification if not already certified.

Train junior personnel on logistics processes and procedures.
Requirements:
Job Requirements & Qualifications

6-9 years of relevant experience in logistics management.

Proven leadership and management skills.

In-depth knowledge of the construction/electrical/solar/renewable industry.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Valid US Driver’s license.

Willingness to travel 100%.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job often operates in a field environment and will be required to travel to and from job sites as needed. This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
