A Department Manager will focus on providing incredible guest service and satisfaction by leading and developing our team members as well as maintain the friendliness, freshness and cleanliness of John's. Senior Managers will manage one department area of our concept and ensure team member efficiency, safety and security. A Senior Manager must possess the ability to adapt to the ever-changing surroundings and issues that accompany a fast-paced, high-volume environment
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* 3 years of related management experience
* HS Diploma or equivalent
* Two-year college or university program certificate preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
* Serve Safe certification
* Food handler certificate as required by county regulation.
* Valid Driver’s License and current automotive insurance.
* CPR certified
COMPUTER SKILLS
* General knowledge of computers including word, excel, scheduling systems, spreadsheets
LANGUAGE SKILLS
* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to speak effectively before groups, guests, team members, and managers of the JIPC organization.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
* Ability to handle and count currency, add, subtract, and multiply simple math.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, sales tax, percentages, and cash register balancing.
REASONING ABILITY
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. These situations may involve Team Members and guests.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form/
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* While performing the duties of the job, the Manager is regularly required to interact with the general public, Team Members, and children of various ages.
* The Manager will be standing and/or walking 8 to 10 hours of their shift.
* The Manager on occasion will be required to walk on uneven surfaces.
* The Manager will be using hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
* A Manager is occasionally required to, sit, climb, balance or stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
* A Manager is regularly required to lift up to 15 pounds and on occasion up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
* While performing the duties of this job a manager is regularly exposed to loud music, horns, bells, whistles, and other noise projected by various amusements and recreation equipment operating at JIPC.
* At times, a manager may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Negotiates and maintains relationships with Team Members, guests, and business clients.
* Coordinates operations, procedures and daily activities.
* Oversees Team Members, ensuring all policies, procedures, safety, and daily activities are being followed.
* Ensures compliance with JIPC policies and procedures and applicable state and federal employment laws.
* Oversees and maintain open communication with management and all departments Shift Supervisors.
* Follows instructions and requests by upper management.
* Follows JIPC key turn procedure.
* Review applicant’s qualifications, interviews, and hires Team Members.
* Follow through in obtaining work permits and food handler certificates where necessary.
* Completes counseling, work related injury paperwork, and payroll reports in a timely and accurate manner consistent with policies and procedures.
* Plans, assigns, and directs work, appraises performance, provides positive reinforcement, addresses guest and Team Member complaints, and resolves problems.
* Enforces policies and procedures relating to problems and emergencies, which occur during business operation.
* Assists with the development and training of Team Members.
* Maintains necessary inventory and orders department supplies.
* Creates and posts notices regarding policy changes.
* Maintains uniform standards.
* Oversees the training of new department Team Leader and Shift Supervisors
* Ensures the department is staffed to build to’s at all times.
* Develops schedules for Team Members.
* Ensures department meets established labor budgets.
* Minimizes overtime at all times, using only as necessary and with appropriate approvals.
* Effectively uses the Pat on the Back program on a daily basis to recognize good performance.
* Demonstrates proficiency in handling worker’s compensation cases in terms of process and documentation
* Conducts training for department Team Members.
* Provides written communication to improve TM performance.
* Establishes department goals.
* Implements an accurate inventory and ordering process for all supplies.
* Develops, revises and maintains a filing system.
* Must complete Department specific Skills Assessment within 6 months from date of hire.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
