Our client is an independent firm that serves as a guide and service platform for ultra-affluent clients who are seeking to effectively navigate the sophisticated and financially powerful applications of life insurance and annuity investment accounts. They are a fast-growing company based in New York City and are looking for motivated, agile, and detail-oriented individuals to help them build and scale the organization.
Location: Mid-town Manhattan
This role will start with 5 days in the office and has the potential to convert to hybrid based on performance, after 6 months in the office.
Requirements:
3-4 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in the LIFE INSURANCE INDUSTRY or in the MEDICAL FIELD (medical administrative assistant, transcriptionist, medical secretary, office coordinator)
- Organized and reliable: able to organize, prioritize, manage and meet timelines on multiple tasks and requests contemporaneously
- Exceptional Detail and Process Orientation: able to follow processes and identify data and formatting errors, and missing information
- Exceptional oral and written communication with strict adherence to the Firm’s writing fundamentals
- Ability to anticipate issues and communicate quickly and effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Familiarity with financial concepts including personal income and balance sheet statements
- Adaptable
- Exercises good judgement and common sense
- Knowledge of insurance licensing, producer contracting and insurance company(ies) is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Working with a Sr. Underwriting Manager, execute general underwriting case management and implementation from inception through completion, including reporting to clients and advisors.
- Prepare timely client communications with strict adherence to Firm template, employing business and writing fundamentals
- Communicate professionally, concisely, and effectively to both internal and external parties throughout the implementation process
- Schedule and conduct telephone interviews with clients and third parties, as needed, to ensure accurate and current information is maintained
- Schedule and, if needed, attend insurance medical exams to ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and the Firm’s process
- Order, review, and synthesize medical records to identify gaps and items of concern and prepare file for insurance company review
- Prepare and review detailed cover letters and application paperwork to insurance companies and clients
- Work with client and his or her advisors to complete the financial underwriting requirements, financial justification letters
- Work with client and his or her advisors to identify and establish ownership entity and formation
- Coordinate obtaining signatures on application packages for submission to Insurance Companies
- Advocate for client to receive the best possible coverage offer
- Coordinate signatures on delivery documents and facilitate funding to place the policies in force
- Input client, policy and advisor information in Firm’s database
- Maintain database to ensure information is accurate and current
- As needed, assist with process improvement or other team-wide initiatives and tasks
