Ro Health is looking for Special Education Teachers to place in the Fontana, CA area! Special Education teachers work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical needs. They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects in a way that is easier to understand for students with mild and moderate disabilities. They also teach basic skills, such as literacy and communication techniques, to students with severe disabilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
May include but not limited to:
- Assess student's skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
- Help develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
- Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
- Plan, organize, and assign activities specific to student abilities
- Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
- Assess students’ performance and progress periodically
- Discuss student’s progress with parents, general education teachers, counselors, and administrators
- Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade
- Comply will all company policies and applicable laws
- Handles all other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills

REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree - no specific major
- Preliminary Education Specialist Instruction Credential OR Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential
- Prior experience in a classroom setting working with students with special needs

Supervision Received
The special education teacher will report to the School Administrator and Superintendent. Supervision is often minimal to general.
Supervision Exercised
The Special Education teacher will often supervise Teaching Assistants in day-to-day activities and be the sole supervisor at times for the students.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour
