As a jewelry sales associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and driving sales in our jewelry store. You will assist customers in selecting and purchasing jewelry, provide product knowledge and recommendations, take in repairs, evaluate and purchase jewelry from customers and ensure a memorable experience for the customer. Your passion for jewelry, excellent communication skills, and ability to build rapport with customers will contribute to the success of our store.
Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance:
- Greet customers, assess their needs, and assist them in finding the perfect piece or gift.
- Provide personalized recommendations based on their preferences and budget.
- Proactively engage customers on the sales floor, showcasing merchandise and encouraging them to try items on
- Utilize effective sales techniques to upsell and cross-sell products, maximizing sales opportunities
- Ensure that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
- Answer customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally and efficiently
Product Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of our jewelry, including materials, gemstones, and historical eras.
- Be able to explain who we are as a company and what makes our products unique
- Stay updated on new training product videos
- Communicate product features and benefits to customers
Visual Merchandising:
- Help maintain a visually appealing store and displays
- Ensure merchandise is organized, clean, and properly tagged and displayed
Inventory Management:
- Assist in receiving inventory transfers
- Rotate new merchandise
- Transfer out inventory when requested
- Participate in regular inventory counts and assist in identifying discrepancies
Cash Handling:
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and other forms of tender in accordance with store policies and procedures
Store Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, including dusting displays, vacuuming carpets, and restocking supplies
- Adhere to safety and security protocols to protect merchandise
Qualifications:
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in the jewelry or luxury goods industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Passion for jewelry and willingness to learn about different styles, materials, and trends.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash transactions.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Pay:
Starting at $17.00 per hour plus 2% commission
