Accounting Manager
The Waterbury Arc Inc. is a Non-profit (501c3) provider contracted by the Department of Developmental Services State of Connecticut to provide day services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the greater Waterbury area. We provide services through multiple programs such as Day Service Options, Group Supported Employment, Family Support, Extended Day, and Weekend respite options. This position will report directly to the Executive Director. This position has the potential to grow with the business into Full-Time. We are looking for a team player who believes in and supports our mission to provide the very best service to our individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA in accounting. Significant experience and skillset may be considered in lieu of a degree. Seasoned professional able to work with minimal supervision. Prior non-profit experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft office suite and QuickBooks.
REPORTING SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
HOURS: 25 Hours a week Monday through Friday
Salary: $40,000 to $50,000
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Oversee the Agencies entire accounting functions.
- Work directly under the Executive Director to advise and report on finances in managing a 5-6 million budget.
- Maintain an accurate Profit and Loss statement and present at monthly Board of Director’s meeting.
- Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable department.
- Payroll recording and taxes.
- All insurance record keeping (Property, Auto, General Liability, Directors and Officers)
- Health Reimbursement Account recording.
- Preparing operational plan, periodic reports, and reconciliation with the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services. Prepares CT government required 8 month reports, year end reports and various Federal and State grant attestations and reconciliations.
- Budget planning.
- Completing and assisting with required audits and reports. (State, Federal and Workers Compensation)
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain bank accounts reconciliation and banking relationships.
- Senior management advisor for betterment of business.
- Maintain general ledger integrity via use of QuickBooks software.
- Review of payroll accounts and proper submittal of government filings.
- Advise Management and Executive Director on major contacts, vendor selection and negotiations.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
