Baird's Private Wealth Management Research team is seeking a Fixed Income Analyst to work with Baird Financial Advisors (FA's) to find attractive fixed income investment opportunities for our clients. This includes knowledge of all traditional Fixed Income products, including: municipal bonds, corporate bonds, CDs, Agencies, etc. This person will also work closely with Fixed Income trading to identify available inventory to execute Fixed Income recommendations.
Some of the day-to-day responsibilities will involve writing a daily fixed income morning update email to keep FA's apprised of relevant fixed income and economic data. Responsibilities also include working with FA's on account reviews, constructing portfolios or new money proposals (e.g. bond ladders), and handling incoming phone calls/requests to the Fixed Income Research area.
As a Fixed Income Analyst, you will:

Support Baird Financial Advisors in facilitating their Fixed Income business. This includes, but is not limited to, handling day-to-day questions, researching specific credits, and researching event-driven fixed income topics.

Work closely with Senior Fixed Income Analyst(s) in writing regular comments on fixed income markets.

Perform account reviews and developing portfolio proposals, including researching specific credits as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or other related field.

3-5 years of Fixed Income credit experience or completion of an Applied Securities Analysis Program in lieu of experience.

SIE, Series 7, and 63 (or must be willing to obtain within six months of hire)

CFA (current or pursuing) preferred.

Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Strong initiative and work ethic, and an ability to work well both within a team and on a self-directed basis.

Experience with Bloomberg.

Experience with BondWorks preferred.
