POSITION OVERVIEW
The N. Carolina PMPD Inside Sales/Buyer (Latin America) works in partnership with the Business Development Manager (Americas) to qualify leads, quote scrap purchases, obtain profile/SDS sheets, and secure orders from both existing and new Suppliers in Latin America. They also enter information regarding our Suppliers and the purchasing cycle into our CRM and Material Management Systems. Additionally, take the lead in setting up meetings for the Business Development Manager (Americas) to visit Suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Qualify Leads generated from trade shows, our website, referrals, inbound calls, management, etc. Obtain information such as scrap material generated, frequency of shipments, shipment/material value, competitor information, shipping information, turnaround time, current terms, etc.
Create quotes using the qualify information and management guidance into the Materials Management System. Follow up with the potential Supplier for questions and feedback.
Send and assist Suppliers in completing both hazardous and non-hazardous profile sheets and get any related SDS sheets. One must be current and on file for all material.
Maintain regular contact with all existing Suppliers in your assigned region(s). Assure that all shipments continue to be shipped to Metallix.
Take the lead in compiling all needed documents, answering questions, getting the QEH&S Manager to assist, etc. for all RFQs/Bidding Processes.
Follow up on and secure shipments from both current and new Suppliers. Enter orders into Materials Management System. Work with the Logistics team to arrange shipment pick up. Send needed shipping containers. Track shipments to our processing facilities. Obtain payment instructions.
Review all Receivers to ensure accurate Lot information and notify appropriate persons of any changes or discrepancies. Review all lot pictures to confirm lot integrity. Track lots through the processing flow.
Enter all communication with Leads/Suppliers and any pertinent information into the CRM.
Work with your Business Development Manager (Americas) to plan trips to visit Suppliers. Take the lead in calling contacts to set meetings.
Occasional business travel will be required.
Mandatory quarterly travel to the NJ Corporate office to meet with the Inside Sales Manager.
Flexibility to travel if position transitions from Inside Buyer to Outside Buyer.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Employees may be required to work any shift, including evening, weekend or holiday shifts, as needed by the Company. This is a full-time position, but some overtime work may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), required.
Outstanding English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 25% annually.
Preferred Sales Experience (industrial sales in Latin America).
Examines data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, solve problems, and process into meaningful data.
Persistent and level-headed disposition.
Ability to multitask and prioritize the constant flow of the sales cycle.
Adapts to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities.
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Experience using a Customer Relationship Management System (CRM), like Goldmine, Salesforce), preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree, preferred.
