Brief Description:
The Inventory Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the company’s inventory accounting records are complete and processed timely, and monthly inventory accounting balances are accurately represented on the balance sheet. This position also oversees company’s inventory workflow processes and provide continuous support through an adherence to effective inventory management practices; collaborates with multiple product service lines to provide oversight on inventory balances, and resolution on existing inventory discrepancies in a timely manner; ensures compliance with inventory policies and identify opportunities for process improvement; assists with internal and external audits and responsible for supervising inventory accounting staff.
This position will report to the Director, Corporate Accounting Fixed Assets.

Detailed Description:
- Oversee management of end-to-end inventory processes to ensure compliance with established inventory policies and procedures.
- Prepare monthly inventory analyses and summary reports for management groups and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounts Payable, Operations and Logistics departments to ensure accurate recording of inventory and related expenses.
- Reconciliation of monthly inventory accounting balances.
- Oversee monthly inventory cycle counts for multiple product service lines.
- Performs inventory excess and obsolescence reserve analyses.
- Prepare monthly inventory journal entries as needed.
- Provide supervision and guidance to inventory accounting staff with day-to-day operations, complex and technical inventory accounting tasks, and issues.
- Assist in establishing departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Assist with internal and external financial audit requests and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Monitor daily transactions in the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure accuracy and compliance with inventory policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions.
- Manage company’s Master Data Governance (MDG) processes for ERP material master data.

Job Requirements:
- Excellent problem-solving, decision making, math and analytic skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting inventory processes and procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting software, preferably SAP.
- Must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel.
- Ability to work with and manage a team.
- Organized and possesses strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient computer, data analysis and accounting skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field of study.
- 7+ years’ accounting experience
- 2+ years’ Inventory Accounting experience
2+ years’ Supervisor experience

Preferred Qualifications:
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or master’s Business Administration (MBA) degree.

Working Conditions:
Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
