The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling medical assistant duties as listed below. We are looking for a TEAM PLAYER who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working directly with people. Medical experience is required with references.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain patient and employee privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer phones and check voicemails daily
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of working areas, supplies, and equipment
- Data entry medical history, medication reconciliation, etc.
- Ability to execute active listening and problem-solving skills
- Set up exam room based on office visit
- Review charts before visits, set templates per visit
- Room and vital patients, go over brief medical history, update EMR as needed
- Follow providers in room, assist with procedures
- Process lab, X-ray, and mammogram orders
- Check and respond to internal messages in the electronic health medical record regularly
- Clean and disinfect exam rooms in between patients
- Review electronic faxes and assign as needed
- Medication refills as approved/prescribed by provider
- Check patients out, schedule follow up appointments as needed
