This is a managerial position that also requires a considerable amount of technical expertise in modern printing production and manufacturing processes. The purpose of this position is to manage the daily production schedule of the Nash Print Plant, which will include but is not limited to organizing and directing of work, monitoring the quality of work being produced, evaluating equipment requirements, responding to customer concerns (quotations, artwork, disks, paper, inks, quantities and delivery times), performing personnel functions, conducting budget planning and reviews, short and long term equipment replacement planning. This position must be able to communicate effectively with staff, upper management and customers. This position is vital to the print plant’s operations because of the need to manage staff, workflow, quality of work, safety, equipment needs and personnel. This position must provide leadership and cultivate an atmosphere that will enhance the efficiency and growth of the print plant.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

About the Department of Adult Correction (DAC)
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons, Correction Enterprises, the Division of Community Supervision and the Division of Rehabilitation & Reentry.

Necessary Special Qualifications-

Must be at least 20 years of age and a citizen of the United States.

Pass Psychological testing as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

Pass Physical Examination as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

Pass Drug Screening as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

Attend and successfully complete (6) weeks of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at a Training Facility.

Employees shall be scheduled for BCOT during their 2nd month of employment.
This position requires certification through Criminal Justice Standards and will be responsible for offender security in addition to their supervisory duties. Offender security includes, perform searches of offenders (both clothed and unclothed), objects and places capable of concealing contraband, personal property, buildings and outdoor areas, engage in duties associated with escaped or fleeing offenders, conduct offender counts multiple times per shift, administer first aid and emergency procedures, utilize unarmed self-defense tactics, batons and emergency equipment, utilize firearms and proper restraint methods and techniques, counsel and work with offenders in a variety of assignments and custody levels, make quick, effective and reasonable decisions in emergencies and take the appropriate action.
