A energy savings and efficiency company seeks an Energy Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this position is to review energy and HVAC systems audits and reports from residential and commercial properties, and create a proposal to send to the property owners..
The Energy Engineer will paly a key role in maintaining and growing a comprehensive, company-wide data management and analysis strategy related to building energy consumption and associated carbon emissions. The Energy Manager is also responsible for overseeing our company energy database, data quality and collection, and leading energy benchmarking, largely NYC Local Law 97.
Responsibilities:
- Lead company efforts to perform energy data analysis, synthesize results, and summarize trends including market forecast data
- Utilize and integrate computational and analytical methods and tools to analyze energy consumption, building performance, and carbon emission trends for buildings and portfolios
- Support with company initiatives for NYC Local Laws pertaining to energy and carbon emissions reduction efforts with specific focus on NYC Local Law 97
- Oversee data collection and maintenance of utility, client, building, and weather data
- Implement protocols for organization and quality assurance of company-wide data sets and analysis tools
- Keep abreast of changes in Federal, State, and City policy and other changes in the industry and identify how company data sets support industry and policy changes to drive market growth
- Support and execute with company-wide research initiatives, including company and public data sets
Qualifications:
- Previous 4+ years of continuous work experience in data management and analysis
- Substantial experience with energy benchmarking efforts (specifically Energy Star Portfolio Manager) and NYC Local Laws, including but not limited to NYC Local Law 97
- Understanding of energy efficiency concepts and building energy use
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with significant expertise in Excel, and Access Database is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage large data sets and to find creative and practical solutions for complex problems, while understanding the importance of high data quality
- Ability to synthesize complex datasets and analyses for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to apply visualization tools to synthesize complex analysis for both technical and non-technical audiences
