Under the general supervision of the Supply Operations Manager, the courier will be responsible for transporting medical supplies from warehouse to hospital daily with multiple trips per day. Additionally, packages/parcel/supplies will also be delivered to surrounding area clinics in Brownsville, Harlingen and McAllen. Will be required to have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, be insurable and be required to keep records regarding the vehicle and its condition. Able to use technology such as cell phone, ipad, etc.

Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, or the Director.

Ensures that vehicle is fueled and ready for use daily.

Estimated miles to be driven; typically, 55-250 per day including out of town.

Safety operates a delivery box truck/cargo van to transport goods.

Safely drive during inclement weather conditions.

Load and unload cardo using manual or powered equipment such as forklifts, pallet jack, and hand trucks.

Ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely manner or according to set schedule.

Verify accuracy of delivery of orders and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.

Daily work schedule may vary depending on need but will include weekends and holidays.

Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.

Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays. Use navigation application to determine best route.

Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and maintain mileage records. Report safety issues and/or repairs required. Arrange for vehicle repair if needed.

Communicating with dispatchers, drivers and other team members to make deliveries.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers.

Follows all applicable infection control procedures when storing, delivering, and handling equipment supplies and linen.
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED required, minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Valid driver’s license.
