JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
Classification: Hourly
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Foreman
Hours: Full-time position
Summary: The E&I Technician is responsible for providing plant wide electrical engineering support for AC/DC electrical equipment including power generation, electrical distribution, drives, breakers, transformers, PLC controls and related.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Uses gauges and other test instruments to diagnose malfunctions and mechanic hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble system components
- Manage and maintain instrument calibration documentation and CMMS database
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of instrument application, operation and of the electrical and mechanical principles involved in repair, testing and calibration
- Maintenance and calibration of process instrumentation devices, electrical power distribution and monitoring devices, VFD drives and motor control
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance including calibration, using data collectors, testing and diagnostic tools, and computerized maintenance management systems
- Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause and failure
- Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns
- Ensures all safety standards are being upheld.
- Knowledgeable with 480V three phase, control circuits, PLC’s and ladder logic, mass meters, radar levels, pressure transmitters, magnetic flow meters, analytic meters for wastewater, running conduit, 24V DC control wiring, Fisher control valves, position indicators on actuators, and Allen Bradley VFD’s
- Willing to work overtime including call ins.
- Maintain the Lee Mechanical Contractors’ (LMC) reputation
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 of electrical and instrumentation experience
