Power Generation Field Service Technician
Needed for our Las Vegas, NV location
We are looking for a skilled Field Service Technician who has experience in the Power Generation Industry to join our growing team from Las Vegas, NV. If you are looking for a hands-on role that will work on critical power systems, we have a fantastic opportunity. You will be working with a strong team dedicated to excellence! Responsibilities
-
Start-up, testing, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and modernization on low and medium voltage switchgear as well as automatic transfer switches

Troubleshooting, service and repair of paralleling switchgear, automatic transfer switches, control systems and/or mechanical equipment at customer locations
-
Develop and manage predictive and preventative maintenance programs

Build, develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships while maintaining a high level of quality and technical service

Adhere to written standard testing and maintenance procedures for breaker, switchgear, relay, control and automation equipment testing
-
Support Technical Training programs for customers, partners and employees on new and existing products

QA review of engineering drawings
Qualifications
-
5+ years of hands-on experience in preventative and predictive maintenance of power distribution and control equipment or equivalent education and experience

Experience installing, maintaining, testing, & repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and similar electrical, control and automation equipment

Knowledge of applicable health, safety, and electrical (CSA/NFPA/UL) regulatory codes and standards

Must have general PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Word, Excel and OneNote as well as ability to use a smartphone to perform daily work tasks

Ability to interpret detailed electrical schematics & mechanical drawings

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to work independently and in remote locations

50% Travel required
Not Required but Our Ideal Candidate Would Have:
-
NETA/NICET Certified (ETT Level II or higher) in electrical equipment testing.

Experienced in starting up and commissioning generator paralleling switchgear.

Advanced understanding of industrial electrical equipment (switchgear, transfer switches, circuit breakers, generators).

Advanced understanding of industrial control equipment (metering, protective relaying, relay ladder logic, Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs and HMI’s).
