We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Scrub Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring that the operating room is properly set up, sterilized, and equipped with the necessary instruments. The Scrub Technician will collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a sterile and efficient surgical environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of Operating Room:
- Set up and organize the operating room before surgical procedures.
- Ensure that all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and properly arranged.
- Verify the functionality and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment.
2. Sterilization:
- Sterilize and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of sterilization processes.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
3. Assistance During Surgery:
- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals by providing sterile instruments and supplies during surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery to minimize the risk of infection.
4. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Collaborate with the materials management team to order and restock supplies as needed.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of instruments.
5. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of surgical instrument counts before, during, and after procedures.
- Document any issues with equipment or instruments and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to documentation and record-keeping.
6. Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure a seamless flow of information during surgical procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified surgical technologist program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
- Previous experience as a scrub technician in a hospital or surgical center is preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
