Role Summary: The Electrical Maintenance Technician (1st shift train - then transition to 2nd shift in future) is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading of all legacy systems. This includes various industrial applications PLC programs, HMI interfaces on all machinery. Proficiency in advanced motion control and data logging is essential. Moreover, the Technician should be adept at guiding and supporting less experienced colleagues in mastering the key aspects of the role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintenance and optimization of machine/system technology as well as preventative maintenance to ensure production goals and maintain production.
Analyze errors of complex systems and elimination of electrical faults in the system controls.
Participation in projects to modernize and optimize rolling, cutting and annealing systems.
PLC Automation & Control systems, Pac Systems 90-30 Series Versamax, Legacy IC-PMIE.
Understand PLC programs utilizing Allen-Bradley MicroLogix, SL/C500, ControlLogix, CompactLogix-RX Logix & Studio 5000 Siemens 57-1500, 1200 & 300 series.
Startup and testing – execute initial in-house machinery start up to validate functionality.
Fine tune PID loops for motion controllers & conduct testing of sub-system performance.
Communicate with shop leads during project start-ups & keep management apprised of projects.
Experience/Education:
3-5 years manufacturing experience, industry experience a plus.
Technician and/or qualified associate’s/technology/bachelor background.
Sound PLC experience with Siemen’s, S7, Allen Bradley, Rockwell drive and/or Sinamics Lenze & Electrical certification or Electrician experience a plus.
Several years in project planning, commissioning or maintenance of a plant, preferably in a metallurgical/rolling mill technology field.
Experience with ISO9001, AS9100, UL, NEC, ANSI, SAP experience a plus.
Able to work independent, strong work ethic and flexible to work in a team.
