JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - The CT Technologist Accountabilities are to ensure optimal quality of ordered images while maintaining patient safety.
- Shifts may vary due to department needs - must be flexible.
- Schedules patients and prioritizes exams based on clinical need.
- Reviews and verifies orders before beginning exams.
- Reviews the patient's EMR for safety concerns that could alter the quality of the exam or affect patient care.
- Prepares patient and room for exams, explains procedure, transfers patient using proper lifting and transfer techniques, positions patient and assists patient as needed during the exam.
- Performs clinical evaluation of all patients and performs exams specifically as stated in the physician's order.
- Observes patient and equipment during procedures and reports any unusual occurrences in relation to patient condition to the Imaging Supervisor.
- Delivers all images to PACS and the Radiologist and ensures receipt of exam dictation.
- Rotate through other imaging departments and will aid other staff to achieve all patient care standards, as needed and determined by the Imaging Supervisor.
- Completes all daily tasks for optimal departmental operation.
- Provides a line of communication regarding department affairs amongst department staff, other clinical staff, and physicians.
- Reports departmental concerns to the Imaging Supervisor.
- Attends department staff meetings.
- Manages inventory of supplies.
- Maintains all center-wide requirements such as annual Employee Health requirements, ARW's and competencies.
