Chatham Imports is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst (Revenue and Expense) for our wine and spirits business located at 245 5th Ave, New York, NY 10016. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and perform a wide range of activities, general accounting functions, monthly financial close and project management for the Company to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.
Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage, record, and monitoring the companies’ expenses; daily management and control of the company’s expense budget including forecasting, research, and variances
- Assist with monthly Financial Close and budget analysis
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports tracking expenses and revenue
- Produce and distribute budget performance reports, analyzing differences between budget and actual performance
- Interact with leadership; offer guidance and recommendations on budget and related matters as necessary
- Address special projects as required
- Assist with developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives and Automating and streamlined processes
- Processing journal entries to correct expense allocations
- Collect and track company expenses, billing, and expenditures
- Providing backup support to the Accounts Payable team
- Completing various monthly reconciliations (credit card transactions etc.)
- Prepare Ad-hoc and value-added analyses as required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 1 to 2 years relevant experience
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and innovative problem-solving skills
- Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
- Experience with SAGE accounting software a plus
- Able to work proficiently with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of general accounting practices including accrual accounting
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
