Overall Purpose of The Job
The phlebotomist will be part of a worldwide rapid deployment research team that will support John Hopkins University Applied Psychics Lab research efforts on behalf of the US government.
The Phlebotomist will be available within 48 hours’ notice to deploy worldwide. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for the safe and timely draw of specimens, proper collection of specimens, labelling, and packaging. The phlebotomist will work closely with the team leadership to coordinate all these functions onsite when required.
B. Key Responsibilities
· Travels with team domestically or internationally with little notice.
· Obtains blood specimens, potentially also collects nonblood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing.
· Preform Centrifuge for specimen samples.
· Performs screening tests and reports results. Processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing.
· Prepares specimens for reference laboratory dispatch and testing.
· Packages specimen for shipment IAW protocol.
· Maintains all supplies and equipment through travel.
· Other duties as assigned.

· Ability to quickly adapt to changing work conditions and responsibilities.
Required Work Experience
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
· Experience in a remote setting is preferred.
· Prior military or fire experience preferred.
Qualifications
· Certification as a phlebotomist from any state or US territory.
· Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
· CA Licensed Phlebotomist
Requirements
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Must be able to travel internationally within <48 hours of notification.
- A valid passport is required and must be in your possession.
