Hyland's is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic III who will be responsible for maintaining the process and manufacturing equipment required to operate a cGMP pharmaceutical facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Works cross functionally with different departments including Quality, Packaging, and Manufacturing on applicable production related issues.
● Monitor and perform preventative maintenance on process equipment, calibration of instruments, and operation of various validated process systems.
● Support validation actives including performing FATs, IQs, OQs, PQs and other validation tasks.
● Responsible for completing paperwork required for entering calibration and maintenance data into the department’s CMMS system.
● Troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment and support systems.
● Assist Facilities Technicians with facility repairs and maintenance as needed.
● Report inventory count of parts, supplies, and tools to Facility and Engineering Supervisors and MRO Buyer.
● Communicate with Facilities and Engineering Supervisor/Manager on a regular basis regarding department status and activities.
● Maintain work area safe, organized and in compliance with GMP requirements.
● Assist in training other Maintenance Mechanics in accordance to Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor guidelines.
● Managing different types of projects like continues improvement, 5S, Equipment Reliability…etc.
● Communicate and coordinate regularly with different departments regarding equipment status and open projects.
● Write and edit procedures as needed.
● Own and manage DCRs, MOCs, and deviations.
● May be required to perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
● High School Diploma or GED; two-year college degree or trade school in electrical or mechanical certificate preferred; three to five years’ experience in Facilities and Engineering in a GMP environment experience preferably in a pharmaceutical company with tableting or other related industry; or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
● Licensed technician in related field is preferred.
● Five years + experience in industrial maintenance preferably in a pharmaceutical setting or other related industry.
● Experience with compressors, chillers, pumps, conveyors, mixers, fillers, and packaging equipment.
● Experience performing advanced troubleshooting and repairs on automated equipment (PLC, VFD, I/O systems, Servo motors and HMI).
● PLC programing and program troubleshoot is a preferred.
● Experience working on Low Volt DC control circuits.
● Experience working with 120, 208, 240, 277, and 480ACV circuits.
● 5S experience is highly considered.
● Six sigma belt is a plus.
● Project management.
● RO water purification systems experience is preferred.
● HVAC and Air Handler experience is preferred.
● Experience working with CMMS software.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● General Mechanical knowledge of pumps, conveyers, mixers, and packaging equipment.
● Electrical and control schematics knowledge.
● HVAC and air handler functionality knowledge.
● PLC programming knowledge.
● Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed, including, early mornings, late evenings, holidays, and weekends.
● High energy, self-motivated individual who is flexible in assignment and able to multi-task between multiple active projects.
● Ability to work under pressure and perform tasks on schedule with minimal supervision.
● Good written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
● Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
● Ability to effectively communicate and work with others.
● Moderate level using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point.

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $27.00 and $35.00/hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other factors as permitted by law.
